I live in northern Illinois (almost Wisconsin) with my husband, two greyhounds and three cats. When I'm not busy working with my clay, I enjoy a variety of activities too numerous to mention! My time is mostly occupied by my 9-5 job as a Quality Assurance Senior for the E-commerce department of a major retailer.
I've always been interested in creating art. When I was young that could mean anything from toilet paper roll people to chalk "watercolor" paintings. One of those my mom was happier about - I'll let you decide which (hint: water with chalk dust is not easily removed from grout).
Every summer I was enrolled in some sort of art class, painting one year, drawing another, jewelry making another. It was during my first jewelry making class that I was exposed to polymer clay. My first pieces were simple beads, but my mom loved them and wore them proudly.
Several years later, after adopting my first and second greyhounds, I turned back to the clay of my childhood to make ornaments of 'my boys'. I had spent many hours googling variations of greyhound ornaments, unique, and custom only to find that no one was creating ornaments in the style that I wanted.
I now create custom ornaments of any dog breed, cat, and a variety of other animals. In the link below you'll find pictures of my newest interest and my own personal collection (mostly experiments in clay techniques).
